形容詞として

形容詞としての「reverse」には、次の２つの意味があります。

１．「前述の内容とは反対の」

動詞として

動詞としての「reverse」には、次の４つの意味があります。

１．反対の状態に変える、つまり、何かを元と正反対の状態になるよう、完全に覆すという意味にもなります。例文を見ましょう。

Scientists are trying to reverse the aging process by repairing damaged cells so the body functions as if it were younger.（科学者たちは、損傷した細胞を修復することで、体が若かった頃のように機能するようにし、老化のプロセスを逆転させようとしています。）
