お祝い表現
お祝いを述べる表現は、日英の通訳でしばしば必要となります。砕けた場面でしたら、どのような表現でも構わないかもしれませんが、かしこまった発話の通訳では、その場にふさわしい敬意表現を使うようにします。
基本的なお祝い表現パターン
比較的フォーマルな場面でも使える英語のお祝い表現パターンを用例を用いていくつかご紹介します。各パターンの一つ目の用例では、その場に応じて変更する部分を青色にしています。

乾杯表現
どのようなジャンルの通訳をするかにもよりますが、私は何度か乾杯の挨拶を日英通訳する機会がありました。通訳者としては、そのような必要性が突然生じるかもしれませんので、英語の乾杯表現に慣れておくのに越したことはありません。限られた数の表現パターンを覚えればいいので、さほど難しくはありません。
基本的な乾杯表現パターン
